So, only like a week after bootcamp us aprentices got to see eachother again when we went for our trip down to Soccoro. Unfortunitly also a week later my dentsits thought it was a good time to slap some barbedwire  torture teeth jewlery on me. (For the lucky readers who don't know what i'm talking about, let me use the more popular name: braces😬)On our way to the Very Large Array we stoped at the Q station. The Q station is this big building that is compleatly deticated to the education of space. It is SO cool! There are games, beanbags, nice art and comfy chairs. Then there is this kitchen with antique aplyinces and lots of yummy food!  Then there is a zoom call area with little rooms that have good screens and mics especiely for zoom calls. Then there is the basement that is being used for a podcast area. Everything was desighned so well! it was breathtaking. Then we went of to go to the Very Large Array.

So in the last post I was part of the way through explaning what happened at the bootcamp, we split into groups of 2 and worked on putting space pictures and videos on to the sides of the cube. There were 4 groups and 4 projectors and computers. So we had 3 minutes to add somthing to the stack of cubes before we had to  switch to the next computer and projector to add somthing. This was really cool! It was like musical chairs but with art. Then we did a VR workshop with some...um...people. (yes, I also don't remember theese peoples names.) we watched youtube videos on our VR heasets, the one I watched was about being in the shoes of somone who has down syndrome. This was sad and scary at the same time. We also played with a app on the occulus called Tilt Brush which was really fun! Anyway, I think that pretty much wraps it up for the bootcamp. 

 A So, for July A LOT of things have happend with stemarts. First we had our Stemarts bootcamp at the HIVE, which was really cool since that what the first time we got to see eachother in the flesh and not over a computer screen, which was really cool! Like "Oh my god!!! I dided't know you had legs!" Anyway, the bootcamp was really cool (And yes, besides finding out that the other aprentices have feet. jk lol ;D) We talked with a space lawer named, Michelle Hanlon. She told us how she does her job, and even what a space lawer is! We also watched a video on her before we met with her on zoom. She is sooo cool! (If you are wondering what a space lawer is and all the other cool things we learned I really suggest taking a look at the stemarts page and looking at the videos. They are sooo cool! We were only able to meet with two though in person and semi-in-person. I will drop a link at the bottom.) Next were able to meet with Dr. Nicole Lloyd-Ronning in-person not on zoom! Which was really cool for all the hands-on activities we were able to do. (Don't get me wrong, Michelle Hanlon's was very intresting, but as a 60 percent kinithstetic 40 percent visiual person hands-on is much easier for me to remember.) First we learned about gravatational waves and how they actully move! She showed us a cool gif to show a artist reperizentaion. (at the bottom) Then she talked to us about blackholes, which was really faccinating since I have been wondering and asking questions to my parents about blackholes since I was little. She showed how blackholes make ripples in the space fabric. For this she showed us another gif. This gif is just so hyponotizing! Anyway, if you want the real deep dive you should really watch her video, it's sooo cool! We also worked with Dania Loyla and her assistant (I am SO sorry! I am tottaly blanking on her name!) unfortunetly Dania could not join us inperson:( which is where her assistant steped in. She was inperson to help us. We worked with three cubes stacked and put space videos and space art on the cube sides. See pic 3 (this is SO hard to explain!) So the fire situation got all figured out once it started raining and raining and raining, for most of June. But now that it is July the rain stopped and now it's really hot and dry like in may, but thank god the fire is completely contained and out now. All the fire crew and and camp moved out of the Penasco school, so now the community feels kind of empty, like we were finally given a ton of attention from the fire, and then bam! We are back to be ignored. Well anyway in June, I went to a drama camp for two weeks and that was pretty fun! We were not able to do our final performance though :( because there was a case of covid. But anyway I am excited about our trip to the Very Large Array! And getting to see everyone in person at the hive bootcamp soon! The oculus headset is really cool, but very confusing. Signing up with Facebook proved more difficult then we had anticipated. But we got it worked out by using the same FB account as Amelia. Unfortunately Vr chat doesn't like us trying to open the app at the same time with the same account. So we are still trying to get that worked out.

P.s I am truly sorry that I haven't gotten around to getting a picture of my horses, Fifi and Clara. I took some good ones on my digital camera but I haven't uploaded the pictures on my computer yet. I will make sure to get that uploaded and posted soon!

On sunday night (may 15th) a state trooper came to our house to say that we had been moved into 'set' which means we are next on the chopping block to be evacuated. Sipapu and Rockwall have been evacuated, Llano and Rodarte have also been moved to 'set', and Penasco and Picuris have been moved to 'ready'. If you look at my house on the map we were just barely not in the area to be evacuated. So that very same sunday night we decided to move the ducks and chickens in case we were evacuated in the morning. Thankfully we were not but I still believe evacuation for us is inevitable. Then on monday we moved our horses and baby ducks and chicks. :( It was so smokey we had to wear masks outside to keep from breathing in the smoke. It was everywhere. I couldn't see the next mountain from us and when I took it off to get some fresh air, I immediately started into a coughing fit. We have been working on cleaning up the brush and sticks near our house to get rid of some of the fuel for the fire, this is very difficult with a mask but I think for the sake of saving our house it is definitely worth it. I definitely do NOT want to get evacuated but in other ways I kind of just want to get it over with since I think evacuation is like I said inevitable. Anyhoo when we do get evacuated we will probably be bedded down for a good month or so, as the people from Mora still have not been let in and it has been almost coming up on a month and a half, so that won't be very pleasant. Just being in 'set' is making my family and I go stir crazy and handle our fear and mental hardship in different ways which gets on other people's nerves and then makes everybody more tense. So yeah. Things have just wonderfully "lovely" for me. Keep you guys posted and write again when I can!

 Right now there is the largest fire recorded in NM history and the largest currently in the US is about 40 miles from me, and they are evacuating people about 20 miles from me. Rightnow my area is in the plan stage of ready set go evacuation plan. Currently my schools gym is housing 30 families of refugees from Mora, Chacon and Las Vegas. We already have made a plan of what we are going to do and where we are going to go, but I still get a little frightened everytime I see the high pillars of dark gray smoke rising from over the mountain near us. The way it shows us how close we are to evacuating is a map on ArcGIS. (see link, I am near rock wall) Moving away from the sad parts I got accepted to NMSA doing theatre!!! I am so excited!! And me and my mom are clicker training our horses and I think it is going pretty well! (see link)

Hey! Sorry I haven't been posting lately! Everything has been so hectic with school and I have been looking for and just bought 2 horses with my saved up money! I have Clara: a part QH and part thoroughbred, she is 13 years old and very gentle and nice to ride. She is black with some brown patches and face. And Sapphire, or Phi Phi (I am not sure what her name should be yet, comment down below what you think her name should be!) She is half arabian half QH, 6 years old, she is cream colored with gray and light brown speckles, a mix of blond and gray tail and mane. She can also be ridden but, she still needs some work, she tossed me off once!  (I will post a pic of them later!). And I am Applying for NMSA (New Mexico School for the Arts.) In theatre, but I can't figure out how to get from the Penasco area to Santa Fe. I am working on my 2 monologues: A piece from Invisible friends by Alan Ayckbourn, and A piece from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. So I have been REALLY busy!!! Also for stemarts we are working on a podcast I haven't done much with it yet (shout out to Zelo-Jade for doing most of the work so far and coming up with the idea!) but I have high hopes for later!

 With stem arts we are doing A program called Arcgis with John DiRuggiero for 3 weeks.
At first I thought it was really hard and confusing. But once I messed with it some more it made more sense and now I really like the platform. I have been working on a map of my community and I am having a lot of fun!!! Also I made a totally awesome ready player me character!
